Oct. 16th, 2007 09:13 pmLivetta posted a meme about the theme songs of one's life, and I ddecided to give it a whirl along with opitional addition of theme songs for people.
Mine:
(More for me -- Tegan) My newest anthem, of fighting and dancing, and singing wildly.
(This Town is Wrong -- the Neilds) I was told that it is based on Sarasota -- but I truely love it for the transformative aspeects of leaving home encompassed with in it.
(Papa was a Rodeo -- Magnetic Fields) Because I'm weird. Well, actually, because something about a somewhat geographically fragmented childhood (home is where the teddy bear is) made this song resonate with me from the first time I heard it.
I'm sure there are others. Perhaps a part 2 will follow.
Mine for others:
Tina: (Hope Alone -- Indigo Girls) I had listened to this song for years, then, when it all fell apart, I was driving, listening to this song. And suddenly, I got it. I understood the song on a level beyond words, and I cried, because it was really over.
Pairadox: (When the World Ends -- Dave Matthews Band) There was something wonderfully post apocalypitical about he and I first getting together. Not to mention that he gave me a copy of this song during the courtship process.
Moonkai: (She's Saving me -- Indigo Girls) more the feeling of the song than the actual lyrics: a sutle change in world that grows into something like salvation.
