Apr. 23rd, 2003 07:02 pmIn 9th grade I was told that 1 in 4 women will have experienced rape or attempted rape in their lifetimes. My teacher said, "pick four females close to you."
My immediate response: "Oh my God. Four sisters."
It's four years later. The score card?
Two attempted, one actual.
No one pressed charges.
So we have beaten the odds.
Does this make the world safer for some one else?
No.
Did I just pick the wrong four people?
Does it matter?
No.
Statistics are cruel.
