So there are all these cheerful memes about the holidays, and what varoius people will be gifting you with,m but some of my strangest memories of christmas are horrible. So:

what is the worst thing that happend at Christmas to:

the tree?

The food?

The weather?

The transporation?

the gifts?

The family fight?

The failure of the modern world: (example, the Christmas we had no running water, becuase the Orange groves next door pumped the aquifer dry... no, really.)

the tree?
Um, last year it was tilted kind of weird because the foundation has gotten old. This year dad didn't want one.

The food?
Last year we basically just ordered platters from Publix. They were good and all, but it wasn't the same.

The weather?
I don't remember it raining much, or anything particular that stood out.

The transporation?
There like... never is any.

the gifts?
Ugh. One year when I was really little I got my mother this watch, and she started crying because she didn't like it, or I thought so. Another year she got mad at my dad because he didn't get her anything. Like, at all.

The family fight?
At first I read that as family night. Yeah, I dunno, I've been pissed at dad at -least- every other Christmas in general. I think one year I came out to get my stuff and then like left and went in my room to shut the door or somethhing.

The failure of the modern world:
I don't think this applies, but I can't think of anyplace else to stick it. One Christmas I woke up, got a glass of milk because my throat was dry, looked over and saw my parents looking at me expectantly, and said, "What?" and went straight back to bed for 5+ hours. It was like nine or something. I just completely forgot what day it was.
